Defines the market and the problems a product solves, before any comparison.
Sets out the market a product serves — its boundary, segments, behaviors and sourced needs, listed without rank — and then the problems the product solves today and plans to solve, one subsection each, worked up from a product URL and whatever documentation exists, or from a structured interview where the product does not exist yet. It carries no market sizing and no competitive analysis: no TAM, no why-now, and nobody else in the document.
Its purpose is to give the agents downstream one vocabulary for the market and one honest list of the problems, rather than each inventing its own. Where the definition was built from self-description with no public page to check against, the product half is stamped SELF-REPORTED, and that stamp survives synthesis and export.
What it needs, and which agents use what it produces.
