Keeping an honest view of where the work stands against the plan and clearing what is in its way — the stage each item has really reached, what has stalled, the blockers and drifting dependencies, and what would clear each one. The work runs from a progress picture built on evidence rather than self-reported status, through a blocker register with a ready-to-send chase for every one that needs another team, to a status report anyone can read in thirty seconds.

Its purpose is to make problems visible while they are still cheap. Status that is green on the outside and red underneath stays green until the release is late, and a blocker nobody chased is still there next week.
