Roadmap Creation & Refresh

Building the roadmap and re-planning it as reality changes — prioritized work placed on Now, Next and Later, or outcome, horizons in line with strategy and the capacity actually available. The work runs from choosing the form for the roadmap’s main reader, through filling Now to the capacity given and framing each item as the problem it solves, until every placement, move, re-scope and removal carries its reason.

Its purpose is to show what is planned and why, rather than a wish list in the shape of a plan. A roadmap whose Now quietly holds more than the team can deliver reads as committed until the first item slips, and after that nothing on it is believed.
