Telling one roadmap story each audience hears the same way
Presenting the roadmap to the people who act on it — one core story with honest confidence language, told in a version for each audience. The work runs from labeling every item committed, planned or exploring from the roadmap’s own horizons, through a version for leadership, delivery teams, sales and customers with the challenges each will raise, until a change note is ready for when the plan moves.
Its purpose is to stop the plan being heard as several different plans. A sales version that turns planned into promised, or a board version that supplies a date the roadmap never had, creates commitments the team learns about only when they are missed.
